History

History

MMI was founded in 1984 by Frank Polizzi, a visionary in the direct marketing industry. Frank entered the industry in 1969 and founded MMI Group to provide marketing and consulting services originally to the insurance industry. Frank pioneered "Bonus Insurance Marketing," which allowed insurance to be charged at no cost to customers during an initial trial period, a practice which is now widely used throughout the direct response industry. Frank was the 2002 recipient of the Direct Marketing Association's Financial Services Council Executive of the Year.

MMI Group has continued this tradition of innovation. Building on the foundation of Bonus, MMI developed a process called "Automatic-Upgrade" to provide customers with a complimentary introductory benefit for a certain period of time, with an automatic upgrade to a higher, pre-determined benefit level later. Auto-upgrade achieved more than double the revenue of previous marketing efforts. MMI was awarded a U.S. Patent for the Automatic-Upgrade Process in 2011.
